Tragic loss of Kiwi Triplets in Doha mall fire

The Little Miracles Trust wishes to express their heartfelt condolences to the family of Kiwi triplets Lillie, Jackson and Willsher Weekes, aged two, who died in a fire that ripped through a childcare centre in a shopping mall in the Qatari capital on Monday 28th May 2012.

The toddlers’ parents, Jane and Martin Weekes, have been living and working in Doha for several years, but returned to Wellington in 2010 temporarily for the birth of the triplets in the Wellington Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Jane’s parents, Ron and Jo Turner from Wellington, are flying to Qatar to be with their daughter alongside their son-in-law’s brother, David Weekes.

All the staff of the NICU together with members of the Little Miracles Trust (Wellington) are devastated with the news of the tragedy and cannot possibly imagine the enormous stress arising from the grief of losing three young lives under these circumstances.

If you would like to discuss sharing the story of your neonatal journey, we’d love to hear from you.
