Spartan supports The Little Miracles Trust

The Little Miracles Trust are privileged to be supported by the world’s greatest obstacle course!

The Spartan race is to be held at Ellerslie Race Course in Auckland from 2nd to 4th August. The race on 4th August is being run especially for Spartan Kids and they have chosen the Little Miracles Trust as their Charity Partner.

Like many amazing things this partnership was born in the Auckland Neonatal Intensive Care unit through a conversation with one of the NICU families. The synergies between Spartan Kids and The Little Miracles Trust were obvious from the start given that neonatal babies, along with their families are warriors just like the Spartans and have to overcome many obstacles and adversities during their time in NICU.

WHAT IS THE SPARTAN KIDS RACE?

The Spartan Kids race is 1-2kms of pure muddy joy featuring miniature versions of adult obstacles with a couple of extras like a massive inflatable slide. Spartan kids.jpg

Kids can enter into two different categories. There’s Spartan Juniors for 3-8 years olds (who complete 1 lap of the course) and the Big Kids category for those aged 9-13 (who complete 2 laps). If you want to get the whole family involved, or a bunch of friends want to register together, you also have the option to create a kids team!

The specially built kids courses are designed to build resilience and self-confidence with the goal to get kids away from screens and into play time. The course features specific kids’ obstacles, plenty of mud and a whole lot of fun. It’s going to be an epic day out for the whole family with kids being able to do as many laps as they want in their time slot. Parents can race with their child for free or cheer on from the sideline and the kids will receive lots of goodies on the day such as a Spartan Kid’s medal, a Spartan Kids’ T-shirt and headband!

HOW WILL SPARTAN SUPPORT THE NEONATAL TRUST?

Spartan is a global brand launching it’s first New Zealand races in August this year. Spartan are dedicated to helping raise the awareness of The Little Miracles Trust across New Zealand as well as that of the 10% of babies born prematurely each year. On each of the race days there will be a number of Neonatal Trust volunteers collecting money for The Trust so bring along your spare change (or larger denominations) and help to support our fundraising.
