One Family, Four Charities

Nearly 9 years ago 4 amazing charities entered our lives. Our twin boys were born premature at 27 weeks (13 weeks early) and their lives were in the hands of the truly amazing and incredible neonatal staff and The Little Miracles Trust. From the incredible nursing team who cared for them 24/7 to the specialist neonatal doctors who provided so much care and expertise to get these boys home.
One of our boys needed heart surgery, so both our boys and us were driven from Wellington hospital by the Wellington Free Ambulance with such care to the Life Flight Trust waiting up take us to Auckland. The unloading from the ambulance to the plane took planning and was not rushed. We were confident our boys were in the best hands possible.
Once in the air we knew our boys lives were in the Life Flight Trusts hands, along with the neonatal nurses who came on that journey. We had one very vulnerable and sick baby on board but we had such trust in all these amazing people.
When in Auckland, Ronald McDonald House became our home away from home. We were well looked after by means of meals, comfort and the team were available around the clock if we needed anything. We had family visit from Wellington at the house during the day but nothing was too much hassle.
4 incredible charities who provided support and care for which we are eternally grateful.
The PwC Charity Relay takes place on Friday 24th February
This great event supports the four charities that helped the journey of Lincoln and Taylor above: The Little Miracles Trust Wellington Free Ambulance Life Flight Trust Ronald McDonald House
The relay will see over 600 participants from over 30 teams complete 100k’s from the Wellington waterfront to Martinborough. Each team has been undertaking all manner of fundraising to support the four charities.
