Nine year old Gaure Sharma's fundraising efforts
Gaure Sharma is a little girl who was born prematurely at 34 weeks weighing just 800grams. After spending some time in the Wellington NICU unit, nine years later, Gaure is now a Year 5 student at Bellevue School in Newlands, Wellington.
On 5 June, Gaure organised a “Toy Day” fundraiser to take place at her school, aimed at raising money to support The Little Miracles Trust. Gaure put posters up in all the classrooms and asked her friends to bring their favourite toy to school for the day along with a gold coin donation for the Trust.
Gaure’s fantastic Toy Day was a huge success, raising an amazing $259.70 for The Little Miracles Trust in Wellington. An awesome effort from such a thoughtful young girl! We would like to thank not only Gaure, but all the students and teachers of Bellevue School for their wonderful support. Gaure – you are a true Neonatal Hero!!
