Activity across New Zealand in August 2019
AUCKLAND
Mums Morning Tea
EVERY Tuesday at 10.30am in the Mums room in NICU. Come and along to chat with one of our Lactation Consultants and other NICU Mums as well as enjoy some home baking provided by one of our ex-NICU Mums.
Coffee Confidential
Our coffee group with a ‘twist’. The purpose of the group is to get ex-NICU families to come out for a coffee and a chat, to talk through their NICU experience plus the transition of going home. We have held some really successful sessions since October last year and are set to continue helping our families out at the Parenting Place, Greenlane between 12.30-2pm: 9 August
The Little Miracles Trust Developmental Playgroup
We’re having a great year this year with record numbers at the group! Kathryn and Janet would love to see any ex-NICU/SCBU families and babies for our fortnightly playgroup at the Parenting Place, Greenlane which is easily accessible from all parts of Auckland. In June we’ll be running the groups on 8 & 22 August from 10am til 11.30am. There’s no need to worry about being on time or staying for the whole time, feel free to come and go as works for you and your baby.
Spartan for Kids
On Sunday 4 August children from all over Auckland will take part in the first NZ obstacle race for kids at Ellerslie Racecourse. With the Little Miracles Trust as its chosen charity partner we’ll be there fundraising for our families in the unit, we’ll have an update after the weekend on how we got on.
World Breastfeeding Week
From 1 to 7 August we’ll be celebrating World Breastfeeding Week with special visitors coming in to visit our amazing Mums and acknowledge the tireless work they do to keep providing breastmilk for their babies.
WAIKATO
We’re seeking support from local businesses and organisations to host our brand new incubator donation box. If you think you can help, please email us regina.marais@littlemiraclestrust.org.nz

Items Needed Please
We are always in need of clean good quality pre-loved clothing for our “Fill a Bag” basket. At the moment we are struggling to find suitable recycled bags to use. If anyone has a supply of these at home they would like to donate, please could you drop them off to The Little Miracles Trust Shop on Level 4 of Wellington Hospital.
Volunteer Quilters
We are always needing more baby quilts to sell in our shop. The funds raised from our shop go towards buying equipment for NICU such as Kangaroo Cuddle Lazyboy Chairs, Medical Research and supporting parents with NICU babies such as putting on the weekly parents lunch.
Thanks so much for sharing your personal story!
We get a lot of positive feedback from families in a neonatal unit who read these stories and feel strength, hope and positivity knowing that they are not alone going through these experiences and feeling certain emotions.
If you would like to discuss sharing the story of your neonatal journey, we’d love to hear from you.

Support Us
If you want to help our support of families going through the stress and anxiety of a neonatal journey, you can donate via the link below.
- The Little Miracles Trust provides support to families of premature or sick full-term babies as they make their journey through Neonatal Intensive Care, the transition home, and onwards. We do not receive any Government funding and are entirely reliant on the generosity of individuals, companies and organisations in the form of donations, value-in-kind donations, grants, sponsorship and fundraising events to supplement operating costs and fund our services and initiatives.
- As we are a registered charity (CC56619) with Charities Services New Zealand we will send you an IRD compliant tax receipt – this will happen automatically by return email.
