Danielle's marathon effort
Last year, Danielle’s son was born at 29 weeks of gestation. He weighed a tiny 1.73kgs. When he was born, he was whisked out of her sight immediately and placed in an incubator. He was a week old before she could even hold him in her arms and he was in intensive care in hospital for 51 days.
Danielle is now particpating in 2016 ASB Auckland Marathon in an effort to ‘make a difference’ The event is on Sunday 30th October so the countdown is on! Funds raised from her efforts will assist families through the stress and anxiety of a neonatal journey. You can help her by reading more here
We wish you all the best with your upcoming event Danielle!
Thanks so much for sharing your personal story!
We get a lot of positive feedback from families in a neonatal unit who read these stories and feel strength, hope and positivity knowing that they are not alone going through these experiences and feeling certain emotions.
If you would like to discuss sharing the story of your neonatal journey, we’d love to hear from you.
