Catharine McKellar

Developmental Playgroup Facilitator – Waikato

Catharine is a stay-at-home mum to five energetic boys. Her eldest, Isaac, was born at 29+6 weeks and spent 8 weeks in Waikato Hospital’s NICU. Now 12 years old, Isaac was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at age two –  and while the journey has had its challenges, he’s thriving and living life to the fullest.

Bringing the developmental playgroup back to life in the Waikato is especially meaningful for Catharine. Her family spent several years supported by the McKenzie Centre, and she’s excited to now be giving back and supporting other parents on similar paths.

When she’s not with Little Miracles (or running after five boys!), Catharine loves walking, hiking, and camping with her family. In 2024, she proudly completed her first marathon while fundraising for the Trust,  a huge achievement combining two of her passions: movement and making a difference.
