Becci

Family Support Coordinator – Christchurch

Becci is very excited to be joining the Christchurch Family Support team. She is originally from the UK and moved to New Zealand in 2016 with her now husband Adam. They now have 3 children; Owen, Seth & Florrie.

Florrie was born in 2024 at 33 weeks after Becci was diagnosed with Placenta Previa and PAS (Placenta Accreta Spectrum) at her 20 week scan. She was an in-patient for close to 4 weeks during the pregnancy and required a caesarean hysterectomy when Florrie was born. Florrie had 31 days in Christchurch NICU, getting home just before Christmas.

Although Florries NICU journey was thankfully fairly straight-forward, Becci understands the challenge of splitting yourself between NICU and home life, especially with other children at home, and the mix of emotions that can come with it. She was supported by Little Miracles Trust herself while they were there and always knew that she wanted to give back when the time was right, by supporting parents going through this kind of postpartum period.
