The Little Miracles Trust is very fortunate to have the very generous support of Sir Richard and Lady Tania Taylor and their world-famous company Weta Workshop. Weta Workshop use its significant resources to facilitate raising funds and awareness for the Trust. Sir Richard and Lady Tania are the Patrons of the Trust and their support in this capacity is priceless.

Weta Workshop very generously held an online auction, donating some of the proceeds of their limited edition, long sold out collectables from their Middle Earth Vault.

Lindsey Crummett-Baker pictured right, along with Lady Tania & Sir Richard Taylor, and Justine Brooker from The Little Miracles Trust, sculpted several of the auctioned pieces and has also spent time in the Wellington Neonatal Intensive Care Unit so this felt especially close to home to her.

A HUGE heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part in the auction & generously donated.  Your support means we can continue to help the families of premature and sick full term babies in neonatal units around the country.

The background

Co-owners and founders of Weta Workshop based in the Wellington suburb of Miramar, Richard and Tania Taylor are proud supporters of The Little Miracles Trust.  From humble beginnings in the back room of their flat in Wellington, Richard and Tania have built Weta Workshop to be a world-leading design and effects facility servicing the world’s creative industries. Richard is a five times Academy Award© winner (in Visual effects, costume design and makeup) and in 2012 was recognised as New Zealander of the Year.  Their support of The Little Miracles Trust comes from a personal experience earlier in their lives involving their child needing life-saving surgery as a baby, and the resulting care and support shown to them by the Wellington Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Richard and Tania continually support the work of the Trust in many capacities, and give very generously of their time to promote awareness and assist with fundraising activities. This auction is another example of their wonderful community support.

Every year in New Zealand, more than 5,000 babies are born premature. That’s one every 90 minutes. Many more full-term babies requiring specialist support are cared for in specialist neonatal intensive care units. The Little Miracles Trust helps to support the families of premature and also sick full-term babies as they make their journey through neonatal care, the transition home and onwards.

All proceeds from this auction will go towards enabling us to continue ‘making a difficult start to life that little bit easier’. Examples of our support can be seen in this gallery
