In May, the month of Mothers Day, there’s a range of activity happening. We’ve pulled this together into one page as an overall update. . .

AUCKLAND

NICU Mums Morning Tea – 1st, 15th & 29th May, Mums Kitchen

This is a morning tea for Mums who currently have a baby or babies in the NICU at Auckland hospital.  It’s a chance to meet those Mums you often pass in the corridor, plus one of Lactation Consultants comes along to answer any questions you may have about expressing or feeding.

The Little Miracles Trust FREE Developmental Playgroup, 10th & 24th May from 10am to 11.30am at the Parenting Place, Great South Road.

This is a fantastic service for babies who have been through a NICU or SCBU.  It is appropriate for babies from when they go home until they are cruising the furniture.  If your baby is well, you may come along when you feel ready.  Janet Milne, an Occupational Therapist, is there to answer any questions you may have.

We can be contacted about any of the above items on:  akldneonataltrust@adhb.govt.nz

WAIKATO

We’re seeking support from local businesses and organisations to host our brand new incubator donation box for a 2 week stint.  Field days would be perfect too!  If  you think you can help, please email us regina.marais@littlemiraclestrust.org.nz

The colder days are coming and we would be grateful for any knitted blankets in either bassinette or cot size.  Please post them to:

TARANAKI

Family Fun Days

Family Fun days are regular days throughout the year held at different locations where neonatal friends and families can come together for a fun filled day. It is a great way to meet and catch up with other families, have a Whanau day out and to gain social support from other parents who have or are going through a similar experience.  It is for any families that have spent time in a neonatal unit.

It is a free event and the venue is always changing so it is key to follow our Facebook page and subscribe to our events.

WELLINGTON

Please vote for The Little Miracles Trust
We are very excited to have been chosen as one of the four groups being supported through “Good in the Hood” at Z Constable Street in Newtown.  That means we’ll get a share of $4,000 but how much depends on how many votes we get.

To vote for us, all you need to do is buy something from the Z Petrol Station in Constable Street during May and you’ll be given an orange token to put in the voting box (or if you’re a Z card holder, you’ll get two votes!). Please head down to Z Constable Street from 1 – 31 May and vote for us! You can also support us by encouraging people you know to vote too by posting on Facebook or Twitter.

2018/19 Entertainment Books
2018/19 Entertainment Books for all regions are on sale now at the following link in hard copy or digital format: www.entertainmentbook.co.nz/1083k31

Please ask all your workmates, friends and family to support our Entertainment Book Fundraiser. The Little Miracles Trust makes $13.00 from each book sold and this money goes towards funding some of Max Berry’s Neonatal Medical Research.  If you work in a large corporate office or shop where you can display a poster or book please let us know and we will arrange to get one to you. Every book sold makes a difference.
