About Dave Greenberg

Dave Greenberg The Little Miracles Trust

Dave grew up in New York City, and lived in Buffalo, New York and Dallas, Texas before moving to Wellington in 1990.

From the time he was eight-years old Dave knew he wanted to be a fireman when he grew up, and followed his dream by becoming a volunteer firefighter/EMT while working as an IT consultant. He saved his first life when he was only 13-years old, performing CPR on a stranger who collapsed on the street in front of him.

Dave arrived in Wellington for a one year IT contract in January 1990, and never left. He was accepted as a crewman on the Wellington-based Westpac Rescue Helicopter in 1991, and over the next 25-years took part in nearly 4,000 missions, part of an amazing team that helped or save thousands of lives.

Over 600 neonatal journeys. Over 600 of his missions involved working with the Wellington Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) flight team. The team transports critically ill premature babies to the specialist care they require, and then transports them back to the nearest hospital to their home, as their condition improves.

In addition to working on the rescue helicopter Dave was Crew Chief or Operations Manager for The Life Flight Trust for nearly 20 years. As a member of the Trust’s management team he helped implement policies and strategies which help keep the rescue teams safe in all types of situations.

Today Dave is director of Emergency Preparedness Services (EPS), an emergency management consultancy. EPS provides incident management training and exercises to government agencies and private companies, as well as assisting them with their policies and training to assist before, during and after a major event. He is also a professional public speaker, using his lifetime of experiences in the emergency services as a metaphor for life and business.

Welcome aboard Dave!
