He’s the Kiwi whose work has saved the lives of hundreds of thousands of babies worldwide.

Sir Graham Liggins known as Mont, was a scientist who made medical history when he found that a steriod could mature the lungs of premature babies.

He died in 2010, but his work continues at the Liggins Institute at Auckland University.

TV3’s Story was able to negotiate rare access into Auckland’s neonatal intensive care unit, and the farm helping tiny babies survive.
