Brienne Filimov works at the NICU in Rockford Memorial Hospital in Rockford, Illinois. It is the same place where she spent the first 3 months of her life after being born 8 weeks early.
Her success story hangs prominently on the wall of the unit’s hallway, and what really touches her heart is when parents of current patients recognise her from it. “It means a lot to me that my story inspires them and gives them hope for their babies” she says.
